Can my position expire (close) automatically?

Please note that your position may be closed as a result of expiry.

An open CFD position (excluding Stock CFDs, and ETF CFDs) is subject to automatic closure without the Client's consent after 365 days from the date it was opened.

How is the price determined during the automatic closure (expiry) of a position after 365 days?

  • Automatic expiry occurs at the last Financial Instrument Price provided by XTB before 23:00 (11:00 PM).

  • In the event that trading for a given instrument ends on the exchange before 23:00, the automatic closure due to expiry will be executed at the last available Financial Instrument Price.

The above automatic closure after 365 days will not occur only in two cases:

  1. When the Client closes the position on their own before this deadline (in which case the position is closed instantly at the current market price).

  2. When XTB exercises its right to early closure of the Client's Transaction in other situations specified in the Terms of Business.

🚩 Important: It is not possible to extend the expiration date of a position.

How to check the position expiration date on the web platform?

You can easily enable the column showing the expiration date directly from the open positions window:

  1. Right-click anywhere inside the open positions window.

  2. Select the "Personalize my trades" option.

  3. Check the "Expiration" box.

🚩It is not possible to extend the expiration date.
