European stock markets set for a slightly higher opening

US traders are off for holiday

Flash PMIs, Powell's testimony later into the week
Futures markets point to a slightly higher opening of the European stock market session today, in spite of a mixed Asian session earlier today. Cryptocurrencies are trying to recover from recent declines although Bitcoin continues to trade below $20,000 mark. Risk-on moods can be spotted on the FX market with safe-havens, like USD or CHF, dropping while commodity currencies, like AUD and NZD, gain.
Economic calendar for today is empty. One thing to note is that US traders will be off for holiday today. There will be no cash session on Wall Street today. Futures markets continue to trade although trading hours will be shortened. Things get more interesting later into the week with flash PMI indices from Europe on Thursday as well as 2-day hearing of Powell in US Congress (Wednesday and Thursday).
