أفادت مصادر مطلعة أن صندوق الثروة السيادي التركي يدرس بيع حصته البالغة 26.2% في شركة توركسيل، أكبر مزود لخدمات الاتصالات في تركيا. وذكرت بلومبرج أن مجلس إدارة الصندوق، المعروف بالأحرف الأولى من اسمه "TWF"، لم يتوصل بعد إلى قرار نهائي بشأن الصفقة. وأضيف أنه على الرغم من بدء محادثات غير رسمية مع المشترين المحتملين للحصة، فإن بعض أعضاء مجلس الإدارة يعارضون الصفقة، بحجة أن شركة الاتصالات ذات أهمية استراتيجية للدولة التركية. ومن المتوقع أن يتخذ القرار النهائي الرئيس التركي رجب طيب أردوغان، الذي يشغل منصب رئيس مجلس إدارة الصندوق.
أبدى مستثمرون من دول الخليج العربية وأذربيجان اهتمامهم بشراء الحصة. وقالت المصادر إن صندوق الثروة السيادية أجرى اتصالات مع أحد البنوك الاستثمارية لتقديم الخدمات الاستشارية للصفقة، رغم عدم وجود تكليف رسمي من البنك بهذه المهمة.
ارتفع سعر سهم توركسيل بنسبة 50% بالدولار منذ أن استحوذ صندوق الثروة السيادية على حصته في عام 2020، لتبلغ قيمتها السوقية حوالي 3.7 مليار دولار. وتمتلك شركة LITROAN Investment Holdings، التي أسسها الملياردير الروسي ميخائيل فريدمان، 19% من أسهم الشركة التركية، بينما يتم تداول الباقي في بورصة إسطنبول وكإيصالات إيداع أمريكية في بورصة نيويورك.
بعد الاستحواذ على حصة شركة الاتصالات، أصبح صندوق الثروة السيادية أكبر مساهم فيه، مع حق تعيين 5 من أصل 9 أعضاء في مجلس الإدارة. وتتنافس شركتا تورك تيليكومونيكاسون وفودافون تركيا مع توركسيل في سوق الاتصالات التركية.
أنشأت الحكومة التركية صندوق الثروة السيادية في عام 2016 وكلفته بالقيام باستثمارات واسعة النطاق يديرها عادة القطاع الخاص. وهي تمتلك مجموعة من الأصول المنقولة من الخزانة التركية. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، لديها ممتلكات في الخطوط الجوية التركية وبورصة اسطنبول.
