Lira sterlină a câștigat în iulie datorită eliminării riscului legat de alegerile generale. Fondurile speculative s-au poziționat puternic pe lira sterlină pentru eliminarea riscului și deciziile BoE potențial hawkish. Banca Angliei a decis să reducă rata dobânzii, pentru prima dată în patru ani, și a făcut aluzie la un ciclu de reduceri. GBPUSD se desprinde de un trend ascendent care a fost în vigoare din aprilie. Caracterul sezonier (bazat în principal pe o scădere puternică de anul trecut) sugerează că lira sterlină ar trebui să slăbească în august. Numărul extrem de mare de poziții long poate indica un risc de închidere a acestor poziții, ceea ce ar putea pune presiune pe lira sterlină. Trebuie să ținem cont de faptul că publicarea de astăzi a datelor NFP ar putea conduce la o volatilitate semnificativă a dolarului. În consecință, există riscul ca această pereche să își revină dacă datele din SUA vor fi nefavorabile.
