Economic calendar: CB Confidence Index from US

9:46 am 25 April 2023

  • European opens slightly lower on Tuesday

  • CB Consumer Confidence Index in April

  • More regional activity data from US - Richmond Index

  • Interest rate decision: Hungary

Tuesday trading session in Europe is set to open lower. Worse sentiment on the European market may result from greater declines in Asian markets, where Chinese indices such as CHNCOMP and HKComp lose more than -1%. Dollar is depreciating slightly against other currencies with EURUSD coming close to 1.1055.

Economic calendar for the day ahead is light apart from the important reading of CB Consumer Confidence Index in April. The CCI Index will give more information about current assessment and expectations of future economic conditions from the consumer perspective. The higher index reading may suggest that consumer confidence is still high. Today, investors also will know more about the regional activity condition (Richmond Index) in the US after the publication of weaker readings on Friday and this Monday.

In Europe, Hungarian Central Bank will decide on interest rates. According to analysts the Monetary Council will maintain base interest rate at 13%.
