Busy calendar in the later part of the week
Futures markets point to a lower opening of today's European cash session. While indices managed to recover from overnight lows, DAX futures continue to trade around 80 points below Friday's closing level. French President Macron won the first round of presidential elections but will face far-right candidate Le Pen in the second round on Sunday, April 24.
Economic calendar for the first day of a new week is empty. There are no major economic releases scheduled apart from speeches from Fed members. Those may boost volatility in the USD market in the evening as US central bankers are likely to be asked about their views on rates and balance sheet.
