European indices set for slightly lower opening

Fed Powell and ECB Lagarde to deliver speeches today
European stock market indices are set for a slightly lower opening today. This is a response to a downbeat trading on Wall Street yesterday and in Asia-Pacific earlier today.
Jackson Hole Economic Symposium is the main event of the day. While it was launched yesterday, key speeches will be delivered today. Those include a speech from Fed Chair Powell at 3:05 pm BST and speech from ECB President Lagarde at 8:00 pm BST.

Speaking of revisions. Revised German Q2 GDP report was released today at 7:00 am BST but it offered no surprises. On a quarterly basis, stagnation was confirmed (0.0% QoQ). On an annual basis, the German economy contracted 0.6%.
