Economic calendar: quarterly results from Tesla, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Meta this week 📃

9:06 am 22 April 2024

The first day of the week starts quite calmly in the markets. The macroeconomic calendar has no major events planned that could significantly impact global financial markets.

However, later in the week, investors will see many interesting reports, including a series of quarterly results from Nasdaq tech giants. Tomorrow will begin with the release of preliminary PMI data for April for Australia, Japan, France, Germany, the Eurozone, and the United Kingdom. Analyst expectations indicate a continued improvement in sentiments for nearly every country. Then, on Thursday, investors will learn the preliminary estimates of U.S. GDP for the first quarter of 2024. The consensus indicates a fairly large drop in annualized GDP to 2.4% compared to 3.4% for the final data of Q4 2023.

Apart from macroeconomic publications, investors' attention will also be focused on the quarterly results of companies from Wall Street. This week, several of the larger tech companies will publish their reports, including Tesla, Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, and Intel.
