- European indices open little changed
- Services PMI revisions, US ISM
- Earnings from McDonald's, Caterpillar and Palantir
European indices launched cash trading little changed, following a mixed Asia-Pacific session earlier today. German DAX and French CAC40 trade flat, UK FTSE 100 gains 0.1% and Dutch AEX adds 0.2%. AUD and NZD are the best performing major currencies while CHF and CAD lag the most.
Economic calendar for today is light, especially in the first half of the day. Traders will be offered services PMIs for January from Europe, but majority of those will be revisions to already-released flash data and therefore are not expected to trigger any larger market moves. Services ISM reading in the afternoon may move USD a bit. Middle East tensions continue to be the story to watch after the US launched retaliatory strikes on Iran-linked groups for the killing of 3 US servicemen. Wall Street earnings season is in full swing and investors will be offered reports from Caterpillar, McDonald's and Palantir Technologies today, among others.
