Economic calendar: US PCE inflation for August, Fed speakers

9:25 am 30 September 2022

  • European indices set for flat opening

  • US PCE inflation for August

  • Inflation data from euro area

European index futures point to a flat opening of today's cash trading session on the Old Continent. Situation looks to have calmed after yesterday's sell-off on Wall Street but one should not forget that moods were positive yesterday in the morning as well before they deteriorated later in the day. EUR, USD and GBP are the best performing major currencies while commodity currencies (CAD, AUD and NZD) lag the most. When it comes to commodities, oil is trading slightly lower while precious metals gain.

Economic calendar for today includes some interesting releases, with European inflation data being one of those. Apart from that, traders will also be offered a US data pack for August, including PCE inflation as well as personal income/spending data.
