The worst situation is still in China, where 80,761 infections have been detected. Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Wuhan city for the first time since the infections began in December. The Chinese officials are trying to convience rest of the world that the country has defeated coronavirus outbreak. Local Chinese media announced that the Hubei province is considers allowing citizens to start travelling by using a health code which is a mobile-based monitoring system approved by other local authorities.
Italy's case count has rose to 9,172 and 463 people have died - the most deaths outside of China. Italy extended lockdown nationwide and urged citizens to stay at home.
South Korea and Iran are the third and fourth countries with the highest number of infected, while France, Spain and Germany all have more than 1,000 cases
Yesterday Spanish government decided to cancel all direct flights to and from Italy for two weeks in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced in the House of Commons today that the government is preparing for the "worst-case scenario" as the coronavirus outbreak spreads across the country.
There are currently 373 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and six deaths within the UK. The British officials are expecting that the peak of the coronavirus will begin within the next two weeks.
The Polish Ministry of Defense confirmed that the chief commander of the general armed forces General Jarosław Mika tested positive.
