Brief description of selected popular indicators
RSI (Relative Strength Index)
A momentum indicator that measures the speed and strength of price movements. It helps identify overbought and oversold market conditions.
MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence)
A trend-following indicator that shows the relationship between two moving averages and helps identify potential trend reversals.
Bollinger Bands (BB)
A volatility indicator that shows whether the price is trading near the upper or lower boundary of a price channel.
EMA / SMA
Moving averages used to smooth price data and identify market trends.
ATR (Average True Range)
A volatility indicator that measures how much an asset’s price moves over a given period.
VWAP
The volume-weighted average price, often used by institutional traders to assess the “fair price” of an asset.
VOL – Volume
Volume shows the number of transactions or overall market activity for a given instrument over a specific period.
It is one of the core technical analysis indicators used to assess the strength of price movements.
A price increase with high volume may indicate a strong trend.
A price increase with low volume may suggest weaker confirmation of the move.
A decline in volume often indicates reduced market interest or potential trend exhaustion.
