BREAKING: Canadian CPI in line with expectations!

1:30 pm BST - Canada, CPI inflation for March. Actual: +4.3% YoY. Expected: 4.3% YoY. Previous: 5.2% YoY

- CPI  Core (Y/Y) Mar: 4.3% (exp 4.4%; prev 4.7%)

Inflation in Canada is slowing but not letting up, as the monthly core inflation index in particular shows. This may be a guideline for the US in terms of how underlying prices may still remain high. CAD strengthens after the data, even despite slightly weaker oil prices.
