BREAKING: Canadian NFP weaker than expected. USDCAD surges 0,5%

  • Hourly wages: 5% YoY growth forecast vs. 4.9% previously
  • Unemployment rate: 6,1% vs 5.9% forecast vs. 5.8% previously
  • Participation rate: 62.6% forecast vs 62.5% previous

Canadian dollar weakened after publication, and USDCAD surges as much as 0.5% after very strong US NFP reading, which showed more than 300 k. jobs added vs 213 k. exp.
