BREAKING: Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index below expectations

The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment rose from  revised 70.3 pts in August to 71.0 pts in September against expected 72.0 pts. The Consumer Expectations index came in at 67.1 pts vs  65.1 pts prior, while Current Conditions index amounted to . 77.1pts vs  78.5 pts prior. Inflation expectations for the year ahead ros to 4.7% from 4.6% in August while the 5-year outlook remain unchanged at 2.9%.

EURUSD saw a relatively small reaction to today’s data releases. The most popular currency pair continued to trade around 1.1755 level. Source: xStation5
