  • PMI data from Germany and the Eurozone below the 50-point barrier!

  • Morgan Stanley raises recommendation on Societe Generale shares (GLE.FR)

Wednesday's session on European markets saw moderate increases in the various stock indices. It is worth mentioning, however, that despite the initial wave of optimism resulting from the worse PMI data for Germany itself and the euro area as a whole, the scale of the initial increases could not be sustained. Investors are now awaiting survey data readings from the US.

Futures based on the German DE30 are gaining nearly 0.24% today, nevertheless they are still trading below the limit zone set by the 100-day exponential moving average (purple curve). Moreover, the European indices have erased most of the gains from the beginning of the session. Source: xStation 5

The session in Europe, despite initial clear gains, is now struggling a little more to take a concrete direction. Nonetheless, today's session is performing relatively well in Switzerland, where Roche AG there is gaining nearly 4.5% on the back of positive test results for a lung cancer drug.

HSBC downgraded its recommendation on shares of Talnax (TLX.DE) to a 'hold' rating. The target price for the shares was set at € 61.

Shares of Danish company Orsted (ORSTED.DK) are gaining 2.77% during today's session after the US Department of the Interior authorised the company's construction of a 704 megawatt (MW) wind farm off the coast of Rhode Island. 

Morgan Stanley raised its rating on shares of Societe Generale Bank (GLE.FR) to 'overweight'. The target price has been set at €35 (previously it was €28). The bank's shares are currently gaining more than 1%.
