ECB Governing Council member speaks about virtual currencies

Ardo Hansson, the governor of the Bank of Estonia and the member of the ECB Governing Council, delivered some remarks about cryptocurrencies speaking at the conference called “5 Years with the Euro” in Riga, Latvia. Hansson told that cryptocurrencies would die as a “complete load of nonsense”, as Bloomberg reports. “The bubble has already started to collapse and maybe we should just see how far this collapse goes, and what is left when we’ve reached a new kind of equilibrium”, said also Ardo Hansson as Bloomberg agency reports. “I think we will come back a few years from now and say how could we ever have gotten into this situation where we believed this kind of a fairy-tale story”, the governor of the Bank of Estonia added.

Ethereum (ETHEREUM on xStation5) experienced a noticeable drop from around $155 to around $148 yesterday. However, today’s trading has been more lenient to this cryptocurrency, and it is trading a little below the $150 mark at press time. Source: xStation5

A founder of Epic Games rejects crypto-related rumours

Fortnite, one of the most popular online video game, started accepting Monero payments some time ago. However, the game developer did not release any official announcement about the launch of a new payment method. Nevertheless, a possibility of Monero payments was only accidental, as Epic Games CEO said. Tim Sweeney, the founder and CEO of Epic Games (a developer of Fortnite), rejected crypto rumours on Twitter. “We worked with a partner to open a merchandise store, and somewhere along the way Monero payment was enabled”, Sweeney explains in a tweet. Nevertheless, Epic Games CEO has not ruled out a possibility of using cryptocurrencies or blockchain.

Ripple (RIPPLE on xStation5) experienced only a slight drop yesterday, but the wicks of yesterday’s candlestick on a daily chart were noticeable. On the other hand, today’s trading has brought a rise for this cryptocurrency. Source: xStation5
