Economic calendar: PMIs to steal the show

  • European futures erased overnight gain

  • US presidential debate did not move markets

  • Avalanche of PMI releases from Europe and the United States

European futures traded higher overnight but erased most of the gains during the previous hour. Indices from the Old Continent are seen opening either flat or slightly lower now. Final US presidential debate was a much calmer event than the first face-off between Trump and Biden. Candidates focused on policies and refrained from making too many personal attacks. Markets barely saw any reaction to the event. Today's calendar is dominated by flash PMI releases from Europe and the United States for October. It is expected that most of the European releases will show weaker readings than in September.
