  • European indices set for flat opening
  • Second day of Powell's semi-annual testimonies in Congress
  • NZD drops after RBNZ decision

European stock market indices are set for flat opening of today's cash session, based on current futures market pricing. This comes after a mixed trading during the Asia-Pacific session earlier today. NZD is among the worst performing G10 currencies after RBNZ left rates unchanged and said that it expects inflation to return to 1-3% target in the second half of this year.

Economic calendar for the European morning is almost empty - Italian industrial production print is unlikely to trigger any major market moves. Things get a bit more interesting in the afternoon with the second day of Powell's semi-annual testimonies in Congress. Fed Chair will testify before US House committee at 3:00 pm BST, but text of the testimony will remain the same as yesterday, and it is likely that Powell will try to send a balanced message when answering questions from lawmakers.

9:00 am BST - Italy, industrial production for May. Expected: +0.2% MoM. Previous: -1.0% MoM

3:00 pm BST - US, wholesale inventories for May. Expected: +0.6% MoM. Previous: 0.1% MoM
