Italian stocks plummet on irresponsible budget

09:18 28 September 2018
What a start of trading session in Italy! ITA40 plummets by 2.5% in the early trading as investors panic in response to the budget deal that the coalition reached. Despite pleas of debt reduction from minister Tria, the government decided to increase the deficit proposal to 2.4% of the GDP. That could stretch public finances and put Italian debt sustainability at risk should economic slowdown occur. The key support zone for ITA40 is between 20200-20500 points.
