US OPEN: Indices drop at the beginning of the U.S. session

The start of today's session in U.S. markets brings declines in stock indices, which resume trading after yesterday's Memorial Day holiday. This is the first trading session after last week's rebound in equities. This week will bring the NFP report on Friday and results from companies like Salesforce (CRM.US) and HP (HP.US). Today at 15:00 BST we will learn Conference Board sentiment data and at 18:15 BST there will be a meeting between President Biden and Fed Chief Powell.

Unilever (UL.US) shares are gaining more than 6.4% today following the announcement that investor Nelson Peltz has joined the company's board.Peltz is currently chairman of the Wendy's (WEN.US) chain.

Swiss bank Credit Suisse (CSGN.CH) is down, contradicting a Reuters report that said the investment bank was seeking to raise capital after a series of losses. Two people quoted by Reuters indicated that the bank may sell shares or a business unit. 

Shares of Nio (NIO.US) and Zoom Video Communications (ZM.US) are gaining due to the bank's recognition. Morgan Stanley added Nio to its "tactical idea" list and Daiwa Securities upgraded the company from underperform to outperform.
