Futures on major US indices gain on President's Day
Futures on Wall Street indices finished last week at record levels and the upward move is being continued today. Acceleration in the vaccination process is one of the key drivers behind the move. The second one is the lower threat of the US economy overheating. A point to note is that Wall Street will not open for the cash session today due to President's Day holiday. Nevertheless, futures on US indices will trade until 6:00 pm GMT today. S&P 500 is trading around 5% year-to-date while Nasdaq100 and Dow Jones gained around 7 and 3%, respectively. Small-cap Russell 2000 is a clear outperformer as it trades over 16% higher year-to-date.
