Order rejection can have several causes. Below are the most common reasons why your order might not have been executed.

Most common reasons related to BUY orders

A BUY order is executed at the ASK price, which is not displayed on the historical chart and can only be observed in real time.

In practice, this means that you may see the BID price on the chart reach the order’s trigger level, while the ASK price does not. In such cases, the order is not executed, even though it may appear from the chart’s perspective that the price has reached the trigger level.

Lack of available liquidity at the time of execution

Another possible reason is that previously placed orders from other clients have already consumed the available liquidity at a given price level. As a result, the price moves and no longer meets the conditions required to trigger your pending order.

Insufficient Funds on the Account

One of the most common reasons for order rejection is insufficient funds in your account. To execute a transaction, ensure that your account balance is sufficient to complete the order.

If you are trying to open a position on CFD instruments, you need to check the required Margin. If the available funds are not enough to meet the margin requirements, the order will be rejected. Also, make sure that you are not attempting to place an order with too large volume.

Minimum Transaction Value for Stocks and ETFs

For Stocks and ETFs, a minimum transaction size applies. If an order does not meet this requirement, it may be rejected.

You can check the minimum transaction size for each instrument in the Specification Table or in the instrument details on the xStation platform.

No Availability of Fractional Rights

For certain Stocks, fractional rights are not available. If you attempt to place an order on an instrument that does not support fractional trading, the order will be rejected.

You can find the list of instruments that allow fractional rights in the Specification Table : https://www.xtb.com/int/instrument-specification

Server Errors or Order Execution Delays

In rare cases, orders may not be executed due to technical errors or temporary delays in the order execution process. Such cases require specific investigation by the technical department.
