DE30: DAX approaches the psychological barrier of 15,000 points!

  • DAX one step closer to the 15,000 point barrier

  • Powell's poor comments boosted market bulls

  • Investors' attention now focuses on tomorrow's US CPI report

Wednesday's trading session in markets from the Old Continent brings an acceleration of the bullish momentum sustained for days. Yesterday the demand side was strengthened by Jerome Powell himself, who did not comment on the current macro situation, which calmed the market and fueled the increases. Now investors are waiting for tomorrow's US CPI inflation reading. Germany's DAX is posting strong gains today and is heading toward resistance at the 15,000-point level.

Company news and bank recommendations:

- Bayer (BAYN.DE) shares are gaining nearly 4% today after reports that activist investor Bluebell Capital Partners fund has built a stake in the company and is seeking to change Bayer's corporate governance. The value of the Bayer stake owned by Bluebell Capital Partners is not known.

  • The stocks of Teamviewer (TMV.DE) and Shop Apotheke (SAE.DE), which released their 2022 estimates, are also posting gains today. TeamViewer is meeting its full-year forecast, reporting 24% revenue growth in Q4 2022. And 13% growth for all of 2022. Turnover growth was 24%. However, we have to wait until February 7 for the final data. As for Shop Apotheke, here sales revenue is expected to grow 14% year-on-year, and the growth of the active customer base alone is expected to reach 9.3 million (compared to 7.9 million in 2021). The company will present its annual report on March 7.

DE30 futures broke above the zone of recent peaks on Friday and opened a path toward the next resistance near the 15,000-point level, which is being tested today.
