DE30 without clear direction at the start of today's trading

11:49 AM 11 July 2022
  • Indices from the Old Continent record declines

  • DE30 struggles to return to the vicinity of 13,000 points

  • Mercedes-Benz (MBG.DE) car deliveries still affected by logistical problems

The first trading session of the week began with declines in most indices from the Old Continent. The French FRA40 loses 0.68%, the Polish W20 1.2%, and the German DE30 0.74%. Although the calendar for today is empty, investors are looking forward to the second part of the week, which will bring updates on the results of the largest US banks (JPMorgan (JPM.US; Thursday), Morgan Stanley (MS.US; Thursday) and Citigroup (C.US; Friday)), decisions by the BoC (Wednesday; 3:00 pm BST) and the RBNZ (Wednesday; 03:00 am BST) on interest rates, and readings of important macro data.

The DE30 remains close to the zone defined by the 50-period exponential moving average (blue curve) and is struggling to break out of the previously mentioned 1:1 structure. The 12,755-point zone may serve as a local support level at present, while the psychological 13,000-point level may serve as resistance. Source: xStation 5

Company news:

  • Germany's Nordex SE (NDX1.DE) plans to raise €212 million from the sale of shares, in a bid to strengthen its business amid a volatile environment for the wind industry.
