  • US futures trade higher, European stock markets shut for holiday

  • US economy seen adding 630k jobs in March

US futures are trading higher on Friday morning, following an upbeat Asian session. However, as Good Friday holiday is being observed in many countries around the world, numerous stock exchanges are shut today and liquidity is thinner.

Situation is a bit mixed in the United States as stock markets will remain closed but some federal agencies operate as usual. As a result, Labour Department will carry on with a regular NFP report release (today is the first Friday of a new month). Median estimate points to a 630k increase in US employment with some forecasters even pointing to over 1 million jobs addition.

1:30 pm BST - US, NFP report for March.

  • Non-farm payrolls. Expected: 630k. Previous: 379k

  • Wage growth. Expected: 4.5% YoY. Previous: 5.3% YoY

  • Unemployment rate. Expected: 6%. Previous: 6.2%
