Tuesday's session on Wall Street starts higher. Investors' attention today turns to the Conference Board consumer confidence index reading at 3:00 p.m BST.

News:

  • Baidu (BIDU.US) shares are gaining at the start of today's trading session following the release of better-than-expected quarterly results. The Chinese company sees greater demand for the company's cloud solutions. 

 

  • Shares of First Solar (FSLR.US) are gaining nearly 2% early in the session after a report that the company will spend $1.2 billion to develop solar panel factories, taking advantage of the Inflation Reduction Act and tax credits introduced.

  • Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY.US) shares are returning to growth. At the start of today's session, the company's shares are gaining nearly 12%.
