US OPEN: Wall Street loses ahead of tomorrow's FOMC meeting

Tuesday's session opening on Wall Street brings declines on the major benchmarks of the US stock market. Investors are looking with uncertainty at tomorrow's FOMC decision on an interest rate hike. Yields on 10-year US bonds broke above the 3.57% barrier today. Today's real estate market data reading turned out to be relatively mixed.

News:

  • Huge material costs and a parts shortage are expected to cut Ford's (F.US) earnings by nearly $1 billion. Moreover, the parts shortage will reduce the number of cars ready for sale. The company's shares are trading down more than 4.5% at the start of the session.

  • Shares of BioNTech (BNTX.US) and Moderna (MRNA.US) are losing more than 2.5% in today's session due to Biden's words that the pandemic is over.

  • Nike (NKE.US) loses more than 2% early in the session by Barclays, which downgraded the company from "overweight" to "equal weight."
