The updated XTB web platform introduces a more flexible workspace experience powered by TradingView-based charts. You can create multiple layouts, organise trading and analysis tools to suit your workflow, work with several charts at the same time and place trades directly from charts.
Switching between the new and legacy layouts
The platform currently allows you to switch between the previous workspace experience and the new customisable layout system.
To change your layout:
Open Settings.
Locate Customisable My Trades layout.
Select your preferred layout option.
Log out and log back in for the change to take effect.
The selected layout determines which charting system is available:
Legacy layouts use the previous chart components.
New layouts use the new TradingView-based charts.
Creating and customising platform layouts
The default workspace includes the same key information and trading tools available in the previous standard layout, including:
Market Watch
Chart
Open positions
Pending orders
Options
Trading
News
Instrument Info
History
Search
One of the main improvements in the updated platform is the ability to create and save multiple workspace layouts.
To create a new workspace, open the layout controls located in the bottom-right corner of the platform (or the top-right corner, depending on your toolbar position). You can start with the default configuration or create a completely empty workspace and build it from scratch.
Components can be arranged across multiple rows and columns, allowing you to organise the platform in a way that best supports your activity. Tabs can be added, moved and rearranged as needed.
For example, you may choose to place Market Watch at the top of the workspace, keep Open positions alongside it and display a chart underneath.
Changes made to the Standard layout are saved automatically.
You can also choose whether the investment summary bar is displayed at the top or bottom of the workspace.
Practical applications
Creating multiple layouts can help streamline different activities. For example, you might use separate workspaces for:
market monitoring,
active trading,
technical analysis,
options trading.
This allows you to switch between workflows without having to reorganise your workspace each time.
Using trading and information widgets
The standard order ticket can now be added directly to your workspace as a trading widget.
Previously, this functionality was mainly available through a separate pop-up window. With the updated layout system, trading tools can become part of your permanent workspace.
You can also display News alongside other components such as:
Market Watch,
charts,
trading widgets.
Because all widgets are integrated into the layout system, they can be positioned according to your preferred workflow.
Using the options trading layout
Where options trading is available, the platform includes a predefined options trading workspace.
This layout contains:
an option chain for selecting contracts,
an open-positions view,
a chart of the underlying instrument.
The positions view may display both options positions and positions in other instrument types.
The underlying chart can be used to monitor market movements while selecting, opening or managing option contracts.
If preferred, you can also create your own custom workspace designed specifically for options trading instead of using the predefined layout.
TradingView charts in new layouts
Any chart added to a new platform layout uses the new TradingView-based chart component.
The updated layouts do not support the previous chart implementation. Users who continue using legacy layouts can still access the previous chart experience where it remains available.
This distinction is particularly important for features that are available only on the new charts, including Extended Trading Hours price data.
Creating a Split View
Split View provides functionality similar to the chart workspace experience available in previous platform versions.
To create a Split View:
Open a chart.
Select the chart layout control in the top-right corner.
Choose the required setup, for example 2 × 2, to display four charts simultaneously.
Assign instruments to the individual chart panels.
Save the configuration using your preferred name.
Once saved, the layout can be reopened at any time without recreating the chart arrangement.
You can also create larger layouts containing additional charts.
Practical applications
Split View can be useful when you want to:
monitor several instruments simultaneously,
compare related markets,
create a dedicated overview for a specific asset class.
Working with multiple charts
When using Split View, crosshairs can be synchronised across charts.
This means that moving the crosshair on one chart automatically highlights the corresponding position on the other charts, helping you compare price action more efficiently.
If preferred, synchronisation can be disabled so that each chart can be analysed independently.
For more detailed analysis, individual charts can be expanded temporarily and then returned to the complete multi-chart layout.
Saved charts and mobile access
Chart tabs are saved automatically and can contain either a single instrument or multiple instruments.
The same saved chart tabs are also available in the mobile application.
To access them on mobile, expand a chart from the New Order screen and open the corresponding chart tabs.
Please note that chart settings are currently saved approximately every five seconds. If you make a change and immediately switch away from the chart, the update may not yet have been saved.
Creating indicator templates
Indicator templates allow you to save a set of technical indicators and reuse it across different charts.
To create a template:
Add your preferred indicators to a chart.
Open the template controls.
Save the indicator configuration using a chosen name.
The template can then be applied to any other chart whenever needed.
Templates can also be added to favourites for quicker access.
Indicator templates synchronise between web and mobile platforms. A template created on the web platform can be used on mobile, and a template created on mobile can also be used on the web platform.
Practical applications
Templates are particularly useful if you regularly use the same technical-analysis setup on multiple instruments.
Using favourites
TradingView allows frequently used tools and settings to be marked with a star icon and added to favourites.
You can add the following items to your favourites:
timeframes,
chart types,
indicators,
indicator templates,
drawing tools.
Once added:
favourite timeframes and chart types appear directly in the chart toolbar,
favourite indicators appear at the top of the indicator list after charts or the platform are reloaded,
favourite drawing tools are displayed in a separate quick-access panel that can be moved anywhere on the screen.
Trading directly from a chart
Trading controls are displayed on charts by default.
For instruments that support both methods, you can switch between entering an order by:
amount, or
volume.
When using the new platform components, the trading value selected on the chart is synchronised with the corresponding value shown in trading widgets elsewhere on the platform.
This allows you to initiate orders directly from the chart.
Whether an additional step is required depends on your trade confirmation settings:
If confirmations are enabled, an additional confirmation will be required before placing the trade.
If confirmations are disabled, the trade can be placed immediately.
Trading controls can also be hidden from the chart settings menu. This may be useful when working with multiple charts and maximising available chart space.
Detaching charts
Charts can be detached from the main platform window and opened separately.
This provides additional space for chart analysis while keeping other platform components available in the main workspace.
Detached charts can be returned to the platform window at any time.
Selecting chart types
The new TradingView-based charts support multiple chart types.
When analysing price data, it is important to verify which chart type is currently selected, as different chart types may display values differently.
For example, Heikin Ashi candles are calculated differently from standard candlestick charts and may therefore show different open, high, low and close values.
Managing positions on a chart
Open positions are displayed directly on the chart by default.
If position markers interfere with analysis, they can be hidden and displayed again whenever needed.
You can also manage positions directly from the chart by:
adjusting Stop Loss levels,
adjusting Take Profit levels,
closing positions.
To modify Stop Loss or Take Profit levels, simply drag the relevant level on the chart.
As with opening a trade, whether an additional confirmation window appears depends on your confirmation settings.
Using the ruler
The ruler tool is available from the chart's left-side toolbar.
It can also be activated by holding the Shift key.
The ruler can be used to measure price movements directly on the chart.
Please note that the current version does not calculate theoretical profit or loss based on the position size selected in the trading controls.
Extended Trading Hours on charts
The new chart component supports Extended Trading Hours data.
For eligible instruments, enabling Extended Trading Hours allows the chart to display additional price activity and candles outside regular trading sessions.
Legacy charts do not support these extended-hours candles. Once the regular session ends, prices on legacy charts are no longer updated with Extended Trading Hours data.
If Extended Trading Hours are enabled but the additional data is not visible, make sure that you are viewing the instrument on a new TradingView chart rather than a legacy chart.
Hot Keys
An updated list of available keyboard shortcuts can be found in Settings for both Windows and Mac devices.
Please note that trading-related hot key combinations are supported only on the new TradingView charts.
