European indices drop as virus fears return

European stock markets launched the day lower and continued to deepen declines. Moods deteriorated as concerns over step-up in Covid-19 infections increased and a top US expert warned reopening the economy too quickly could doom recovery. German DAX and French CAC 40 decline 1.8% while UK FTSE drops 1.1%.
