This month's Texas business surveys revealed a stagnant manufacturing sector with the production index slightly rising to 0.7 from -2.8 in May, indicating minimal changes in output. Mixed results were seen in other areas: new orders remained slightly negative, capacity utilization dipped, but shipments improved. Business outlooks were less negative, with the general business activity index improving to -15.1. Labor market trends showed slight declines in employment and steady work hours. Price and wage pressures persisted, with the wages and benefits index rising to 24.3.
