US Gross Domestic Product Q1, 2nd Reading:

  • Actual:  1.3% q/q. Forecast: 1.3% q/q. Previous: 1.6% q/q
  • GDP Price Deflator: 3.1% q/q. Forecast: 3.1% q/q . Previous: 1.7% q/q
  • Core PCE:  3.6% q/q. Forecast: 3.7% q/q. Previous: 2.1% q/q 
  • Personal Consumption Q1: 2.0% (Forecast: 2.2%; Previous: 2.5%)

US Initial Jobless Claims:

Actual: 219k. Forecast: 218k. Previous: 215k

As a whole, the published data did not deviate excessively from forecasts, but one can nevertheless sense a slight turn toward more dovish readings.  “Risk” slightly gains after the report.
