BREAKING: Massive drop in US consumer confidence index

Once again we see a strong fall in the UoM consumer confidence index. This time the index falls almost to 60 points, lowest reading since 2011. Specifically, the index for February comes in at 61.7 points against an expectation of 67 points and the previous level of 67.3 points.

- Current Conditions: 68.5 (est 72.1; prev 72.0)

- Expectations: 57.4 (est 64.5; prev 64.1)

- 1-Year Inflation: 5.0% (est 5.0%; prev 4.9%)

- 5-10 Year Inflation: 3.1% (prev 3.1%)
