In September 2023, real new orders in manufacturing increased by 0.2% compared to the previous month, after adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects. However, when compared to the same month in the previous year, there was a 4.3% decrease. In August 2023, there was a significant revision, with new orders increasing by 1.9% compared to July 2023, mainly due to incorrectly reported data in the 'manufacture of computer, electronic, and optical products' sector.
Overall, new orders in manufacturing showed a modest increase in September but remained lower compared to the same month in the previous year.
