The number of Americans filling for unemployment benefits was 0.235 million in the week ended July 2, compared to 0.231 million reported in the previous week. Today’s reading came in above market expectations of 0.230 million and is another sign of weakening labour market.
Continuing claims reading, which lags initial jobless claims data by one week,also increased to 1375 million from 1.324 million, while analysts expected an increase to 1.327 million.
