Annual inflation rate in the US rose to 2.6 in March from 1.7% in the previous month and above market expectations of 2.5%. The rate remains above 2.3% recorded in February 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
US core consumer price inflation, which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, rose to 1.6 % in March from 1.3% in February and above market expectations of 1.5 %.
