BREAKING: USD muted after weak claims data

The number of Americans filling for unemployment benefits was 0.218 million in the week ended May 14, compared to 0.203 million reported in the previous week. Today’s reading came in above market expectations of 0.200 million.
Continuing claims reading, which lags initial jobless claims data by one week, dropped to 1.317 million from 1.343 million, while analysts expected a decrease to 1.320 million.

EURUSD barely reacted to the release of claims data. The main currency pair is currently testing a short-term resistance zone in the 1.0530 area. Source: xStation
