DE30: DAX holds below 200-day EMA

  • A mixed start to a new week of trading in Europe

General market situation:

Monday's trading session on European markets brings mixed sentiment from investors, who are looking hesitantly at this week's scheduled macro readings. 

Today's revisions to the PMI data for industry were mixed - data from France were revised upward, while data from Germany were revised slightly downward. The index for the Eurozone as a whole was approved at 43.4. The key conclusion remains unchanged - the manufacturing sector in major European economies remains in recession.

News:

Jefferies reissued analyst coverage on shares of Kion (KGX.DE) with a "buy" rating and a target price of €48 per share (+32% relative to Friday's closing price). The company's shares are currently losing nearly 1%.

Jefferies was also positive on shares of Jungheinrich (JUN3.DE). Coverage in this case also resumed at the "buy" level; the target price was set at 39 euros (+38% relative to Friday's closing price). The company's shares are currently gaining nearly 2%.

Britain's largest defense company and one of the largest of its kind in the world, BAE Systems (BA.UK) has won a €4.56 billion contract to build next-generation SSN-AUKUS (nuclear-powered) submarines. The vessels will be the most advanced and most powerful pillar of the Royal Navy's submarine fleet. The company's shares are currently gaining nearly 1%.
