DE30: Dax marginally higher ahead of the US CPI report

Tuesday's German trading session brings slightly better investor sentiment. Nevertheless, these will be put to an important test at 1:30 pm GMT, when the US CPI inflation reading will be published. Today we learned some interesting readings from Germany.

As stated in the report, sentiment for the future is improving. Most economists expect inflation to fall in the coming months.

  • Leading the gains on the German stock market today are the shares of Lufthansa (LHA.DE), which are gaining nearly 4%. Significant growth in demand for airline tickets has raised forecasts for operating profit, which is expected to reach €1.5 billion. Recall that a profit of €1.1 billion was previously expected.

  • Similar sentiment can be seen on the shares of Fraport (FRA.DE), which are gaining 2%. Traffic at Frankfurt Airport is rising all the time, and is approaching pre-Pandemic Covid values.

  • A buy recommendation issued by UBS on the shares of Wacker Chemie (WCH.DE) boosted the company's shares by more than 6%. The target price at €165, was previously €115.
