According to reports published via Twitter and industry portals, among others, Apple (APPL.US) reportedly may be considering launching an augmented reality 'AR' headset,
- Another tech giant's involvement in VR/AR technology could improve speculative sentiment around metaverse-related cryptocurrencies, which include Decentraland. All of them have been trading at euphoric highs on the wave of Facebook's rebranding of Meta Platforms.
- In the other hand speculators see that Decentraland game is not very popular and have only few thousands of daily users. That doesn't coincides i with almost $1 bln Dcentraland market cap;
- An article in Tom's Guide points to potential plans to enter the VR/AR market with a device called the Apple Reality Pro. However, an official announcement from Apple regarding VR/AR is still lacking although speculation points to WWDC 2023 as a possible date for a statement on the company's involvement in the metaverse trend,
