- European markets set to open slightly lower
- Bank of Canada interest rate decision
- DOE report on oil inventories
Futures markets point to a slightly lower opening of today's cash trading session in Europe. Once again the economic calendar for the European morning is empty with no major releases scheduled. However, things get a bit more interesting in the afternoon, especially for CAD traders. Bank of Canada is set to announce a monetary policy decision at 3:00 pm GMT. Rates will remain unchanged but some important guidance may be offered, especially given a recent hawkish shift from Fed officials like Powell and strong economic data from Canada. Oil traders will focus on DOE report at 3:30 pm GMT.
