Economic calendar: EC forecasts and US earnings

  • European markets expected to open flat

  • European Commission to publish economic forecasts

  • PepsiCo and Walt Disney to report earnings

Trading in Asia was muted as stock exchanges in China and Japan were shut for holidays. European markets are expected to open flat. Economic calendar is very light today. Economic forecasts from European Commission is the only noteworthy macro release from Europe today. US jobless claims will be released in the early afternoon but the market has been ignoring this report for a while now. Among today's earnings reporters, investors can find PepsiCo, Kraft Heinz and Walt Disney.

1:30 pm GMT - US, jobless claims. Expected: 757k. Previous: 779k

3:30 pm GMT - EIA natural gas inventories. Expected: -100 bcf. Previous: -192 bcf
