Economic calendar: Investors await Trump’s press conference

  • Moods improve on stimulus hopes

  • Donald Trump to hold press conference today

  • API and WASDE data to be released today

Moods on the global financial markets have improved since yesterday. Stocks in Asia gained while US and European futures trade higher as well. Oil is recovering strongly but traders should stay on guard as the rebound is poorly justified by fundamentals. Press conference of the US President Trump on new stimulus measures will be the key point of the day and is one of the main reasons why moods have improved. However, the exact timing of the conference is still uncertain. Apart from that, there is little on the calendar to catch investors’ eye. Commodity traders will be served API estimates and WASDE report.
