Today's macroeconomic calendar for investors may be marked by speeches from two central bank heads and the decision of the Bank of Canada. Market expectations indicate that the interest rates will be maintained unchanged at 5.0%.

In the latter part of the day, speeches will be given by Jerome Powell of the Fed and Christine Lagarde of the ECB. However, the chances of new statements or clear guidance being provided in these speeches are low. The ECB President will give a speech at a dinner at the Bank of Greece in Athens, and just to recall that we are the day befor the ECB decision. Meanwhile, Jerome Powell will be present at lectures in the field of social sciences and public policy in Washington, D.C.

3:30 PM (BST), USA - Weekly report on changes in crude oil, distillates, and gasoline stocks

Banker speeches:

  • 6:00 PM (BST) - ECB, President Christine Lagarde
  • 9:35 PM (BST) - Fed, Chair Jerome Powell

Publication of quarterly results:

  • Boeing - before the session in the USA
  • Meta Platforms - after the closing of the session in the USA
  • IBM - after the closing of the session in the USA
  • Western Union - after the closing of the session in the USA
