Indices and equity futures around the world are trading higher at the beginning of a new year. European stock market indices are expected to launch today's trading higher following big gains made in Asia. Oil is trading higher ahead of OPEC+ video conference that is aimed at determining production levels for February. This will be the most important event of the day as the economic calendar is rather light. Manufacturing PMIs for December will be released throughout the day but readings from major economies, like Germany, France of the United States, will be revisions.

8:45 am GMT - Italy, manufacturing PMI for December. Expected: 53.7. Previous: 51.5

8:50 am GMT - France, manufacturing PMI for December (final). First release: 51.1

8:55 am GMT - Germany, manufacturing PMI for December (final). First release: 58.6

9:00 am GMT - Norway, manufacturing PMI for December. Expected: 52.3. Previous: 51.9

9:30 am GMT - UK, manufacturing PMI for December (final). First release: 57.3

2:00 pm GMT - OPEC+ video conference

2.45 pm GMT - US, manufacturing PMI for December (final). First release: 56.5

3:00 pm GMT - US, construction spending for November. Expected: 0.9% MoM. Previous: 1.3% MoM
