Economic calendar: Retail sales data from Canada and Poland

  • Polish retail sales growth expected to slow

  • Canadian retail sales seen increasing in July

  • FED and ECB members to speak throughout the day

9:00 am BST - Poland, Retail sales for August. Data from Poland released earlier this week came in mixed. Employment was more or less in-line, wage growth was slightly better-than-expected while industrial production plummeted in spite of a forecasted increase. Retail sales figures for August are expected to show an increase of 6.5% YoY after 7.4% YoY previously.

1:30 pm BST - Canada, Retail sales for July. Canadian data released this week was mixed as well with CPI decelerating unexpectedly and ADP report showing bigger-than-expected increase in employment. CAD traders will be offered one more report this week - retail sales for July. Headline measure is expected to increase 0.6% MoM while core gauge should show 0.3% MoM advance.
