Speeches from 4 Fed members and ECB President
Online meeting between US President Biden and Chinese President Xi failed to trigger major moves on the market. Two leaders talked about important issues but no major declarations were made. However, two leaders acknowledged the need to maintain communication between the United States and China.
Futures markets point to a flat or slightly higher opening for major stock market indices from Europe. Economic calendar for the European morning is almost empty with data revisions being the only releases scheduled. However, things get more interesting in the afternoon with the US retail sales report for October set to be released at 1:30 pm GMT. Apart from that, investors will be offered speeches from 4 Fed members and ECB President Lagarde. Last but not least, 2 Dow Jones members will report Q3 earnings today before the opening of the Wall Street session - Walmart and Home Depot.
