Economic calendar: ZEW and US industrial production data

• September ZEW Economic Sentiment figures for Germany and the Eurozone
• US industrial production figures
• UK Jobless Rate highest since October 2018

Economic calendar is quite light today. ZEW Economic Sentiment figures for Germany and the Eurozone will be the key releases of the European session while US industrial production figures and September NY Empire State Manufacturing Index numbers will be on watch during US trading hours. Meanwhile API report is expected to show small build.

A moment ago we got to know the data from the British labor market. UK Jobless Rate highest since October 2018. The UK unemployment rate rose to 4.1 % in the three months to July of 2020 from 3.9 % in the previous period, in line with analysts’ estimates. It is the highest level in almost two years. Meantime, employment fell by 12 thousand to 32.98 million due to large decreases in employment for young and older workers (people aged 16 to 24 years and those aged 65 years and over).

10:00 am BST – German ZEW Economic Sentiment Index (SEP). Expected:  69.7. Previous: 71.5
10:00 am BST – Eurozone ZEW Economic Sentiment Index (SEP). Expected:63.0 Previous: 64.0
1:30 pm BST – Canada Manufacturing Sales MoM (JUL). Expected:  8.7%. Previous: 20.7%
1:30 pm BST  - NY Empire State Manufacturing Index (SEP). Expected:  6. Previous: 3.7
2:15 pm BST – US Industrial Production. Expected:  1%. Previous: 3%
9:30 pm BST - API report on oil inventories. Expected: 0.2 mb. Previous: 2.97mb
