European stocks sink on Italian concerns

There's a sea of red across European stock markets this morning with Italy once more the main source of the selling. The ITA40 has dropped more than 2% to trade close to its lowest level in 1 1/2 years while the DE30 has fallen below the 12,000 mark for the first time in more than 3 weeks. Will this selling persist or does a good buying opportunity lie around the corner?
