Of recent note, the Ford Motor (F.US) company has confirmed its intention to lay off 3,000 employees at its subsidiaries in the US, Canada and India. The process will begin September 1, and affected employees were notified this week. Ford's stock is under additional pressure today following a verdict ordering it to pay a $1.7 billion fine. At issue is an accident in which a married couple died.
